Everybody Loves Me
A thousand people came to hear me play my lonely songs last night.
I’d still be singing if I didn’t have to catch an early flight.
The crowd kept shouting out for more and more.
I thought they’d never let me leave the floor.
Everybody loves me.
Everybody loves me.
Everybody loves me.
But the only one I want to love me is you.
I see your lovely smile in every face that’s shining just for me.
But there’s a trace of tears beneath the vale of every smile I see.
I’d give up all my fame for your sweet kiss.
There’s really nothing here that I would miss.
Everybody loves me.
Everybody loves me.
Everybody loves me.
But the only one I want to love me is you.
There was a time when I would only sing my songs for you.
They painted pictures of a bright and special world we knew.
Now that my songs are colored blue and gray,
the whole world seems to love them more this way, this way.
Everybody loves me.
Everybody loves me.
Everybody loves me.
But the only one I want to love me is you, yay.
Yes, the only one I want to love me is you.
